The National Desgin Centre presents the thrid annual Melbourne Design Festival, with more than 40 events - many of them free - celebrating design in all its forms.

There's the Australian Poster Annual, the Down to Earth garden exhibition on the banks of the Yarra, the Speaker Series featuring local and international experts in their fields, and the popular Melbourne Design Market on July 8, where you pick up the wares of established and emerging designers, as well as desgin students.

And the iMade touring Italian furniture design exhibition showcases the stunning work coming out of Milan. This year's festival theme is When it Rains, It Pours.
